Plan Your Charity's Social Media Year with our Free 2027 Calendar

If you run social media for a charity, you'll know the feeling. It's the morning of an awareness day, you've just realised it's today, and you're trying to write something thoughtful before lunch.

We made something to help. Our free UK Charity Social Media Calendar 2027 puts the year's awareness days, fundraising moments and key dates in one place, so you can plan ahead instead of scrambling on the day.

What's inside

The calendar is a 14-page PDF with one page for each month of 2027. Every month page has:

  • A month-at-a-glance grid, with key dates and awareness weeks highlighted

  • A list of key dates, from well-known days like International Women's Day to smaller, cause-specific ones

  • Month-long campaigns like Pride Month, Black History Month and Movember

  • Clear markers for dates that are still to be confirmed by the organising charities, so you know what to double-check

It's designed for charities, non-profits and CICs across the UK, whatever your cause or size.

Why plan around awareness days?

Awareness days give your charity a reason to join a bigger conversation. They can help you:

  • Reach new people who are already searching and sharing around a topic

  • Give your supporters something to share, which is often the easiest way to extend your reach

  • Tell your story in a moment when people are paying attention

  • Take the pressure off, because knowing what's coming means you can plan the content in advance

For example, Volunteers' Week (1–7 June) is a natural moment to thank your volunteers and recruit new ones. Giving Tuesday (30 November) is a chance to talk about the difference donations make. And awareness weeks like Mental Health Awareness Week are an opportunity to share your work with people who need to hear about it.

How to use the calendar well

A calendar full of dates can feel overwhelming. A few tips:

1. Pick 5 to 10 dates, not all of them.
You don't need to post on every awareness day, and you shouldn't try. Choose the ones that genuinely connect to your cause and your supporters.

2. Start planning 4 to 6 weeks ahead.
Many awareness days have official toolkits, hashtags and graphics. Planning early gives you time to use them, and to get your own content ready.

3. Make it yours.
A generic "Happy [Awareness Day]!" post rarely connects. Real stories, photos and quotes from your own work will always do better.

4. Be sensitive.
For days linked to health, bereavement or mental health, take extra care with your tone, and signpost to support where appropriate.

5. Check the "to be confirmed" dates.
Some awareness days are only announced a few months ahead. We've marked these in the calendar, and it's worth checking them again closer to the time.

From calendar to content

A calendar tells you when to post. The harder part is knowing what to say, and finding the time to say it.

That's where we can help. We create social media content plans for charities, with captions, key dates and a posting schedule built around your cause. Our support is flexible and monthly rolling, with no long contracts, and shaped around what your charity needs.
